Raphael, Gardo en Rato zijn drie jongetjes die opgroeien in een sloppenwijk en de kost verdienen met het afstruinen van een grote vuilnisbelt. Tijdens hun zoektocht naar bruikbare spullen vinden ze op een dag een leren tas met daarin een portemonnee, een identiteitskaart, een plattegrond en een sleutel. Het trio besluit om de tas met inhoud te houden en niet aan de politie over te dragen. Door dit besluit komen de drie al snel in de problemen en worden ze achterna gezeten door corrupte figuren binnen de politie en de overheid.
