Jamie Conway is een ambitieuze beginnende schrijver die het plattenland van Kansas inruilt voor de indrukwekkende skyline van Manhattan en het verleidelijke maar slopende nachtleven dat achter deze façade schuilgaat. Omdat de sociale regels van de schrijverscène dat voorschrijven en hij zijn netwerk uit wil breiden stort Jamie zich in de wilde wereld van uitzinnige feesten en drugs.
